FIRST® Class: FIRST® Tech Challenge (grades 7-12)

“FIRST® Class is a free curriculum that provides authentic, real-world learning to students by bringing FIRST Tech Challenge into the classroom. The curriculum is designed to be a stand-alone robotics/programming/engineering course for grades 7-12 but also follows a timeline to allow students to be competition ready if they choose. Off season curriculum is designed to strengthen students’ programming and engineering practices.” — FIRST Curriculum

Turtle Invitational Aug 11, 2018

FTC Team 8581’s host organization KSS Robotics is running a competitive off-season FTC tournament called the KSS Robotics Turtle Invitational. Alliance captains will be awarded cash, and special prizes. KSS Robotics invites you and your team to either compete, present, or just come and hang out.

August 11th, 2018 at The University of Akron Central-Hower south gymnasium (123 S Forge St, Akron, OH 44308). This event includes a robot game (Relic Recovery) and FTC specific presentations. Teams that would like to present can choose a topic, prepare a 20-25 minute FTC specific presentation, then give that presentation to other attending teams. Links to apply for both the robot game and presentation are on the website linked below. The application deadline is June 15th. This event is open to the public. We welcome any FIRST team who wishes to attend even if they do not choose to compete.

The Turtle Invitational has three goals:

      • Bring together FTC teams who have demonstrated excellence

      • Prepare for the Rover Ruckus Season

      • Run a high quality FTC tournament
